1. Are SES services free or is there some catch?

Yes, these after-school tutoring services are FREE. They are paid for by your child’s school district as part of the No Child Left Behind Act. Supplemental Educational Services, also known as SES, give eligible families the opportunity to take advantage of state of the art tutoring programs to help their children improve their math skills and knowledge. There is no charge to parents to take advantage of these services if they qualify for them under that state guidelines.

2. How do I sign-up for you FREE Online Math Tutoring Program through SES?

You should receive an (SES) Supplemental Educational Services program application from your child’s school district or school. Eligible SES families typically receive this application in the mail along with information about the SES providers approved in their state.

You must fill-out the school district’s application and submit it to the contact and address listed on this district form. We do not provide this form to you. You will receive this application from your child’s school system.

If you are interested in our services, you must select “Achieve HighPoints” as your #1 Provider choice on the SES district application form.

If your child is on reduced/free lunch AND attending a Title 1 School that is in “Needs Improvement” status, then your child will most likely qualify.

3. I have not received the SES District Application form from my child’s school. Who do I contact in the District about my eligibility for SES and a district application for Free Tutoring Services?

Please contact your Child’s School Office to ask for the SES application form.

If your child’s school does not have the SES program application form and/or you have questions about your SES eligibility, please contact the Title I Coordinator for your School District. Or, please call us at 1-877-737-6252 and dial #1 to reach our enrollment desk if you require further assistance.

4. Do you just tutor in math? Do you offer any other subjects?

Yes, we currently only provide math tutoring in most states. We are offering Online Reading for grade 2 – 12 in PA state.

5. How do you tutor online?

Our program is geared towards focusing on the exact learning needs of your child. Your child might be strong in Geometry for example, but he/she may have difficulty with fractions. With Achieve HighPoints, we assess your child’s skill set based on a pre-test which is performed online. Once we have completed this diagnostic test, we will identify the unique areas of challenge for your child and an individualized student learning plan is created to address the exact learning needs of your child. This student learning plan is the roadmap for the student’s tutoring and our end goal is for them to achieve academic success in mathematics.

From there, we will continuously provide your child with lessons and targeted work online to help build your child’s math skills. Children may ask questions about their math content at anytime in our program. Our program offers a self-paced and nurturing environment for students. At anytime, you will be able to access live progress reports online for your child. We will keep you up to date and notify you if your child is missing tutoring sessions. Your child will be assessed throughout the program to track progress and areas in need of further tutoring.

6. How long is the tutoring program? How many hours does my child have to work on the program each week?

Once you select Achieve HighPoints as your #1 Provider on the district application form and the district informs us that we will be tutoring your child, we will contact you and notify you of how to get your child started on the program. Each school district has a certain number of hours allocated for each student based on the funding that they have available. Regardless of that funding we require the student to complete 30 hours of tutoring on our platform. Your child must complete at least 4 hours of online tutoring sessions per week until the established tutoring schedule is completed. From there, we welcome your child to continue his/her math studies using our online program at no charge.

7. How safe is online Tutoring? I am worried about online predators, etc.

The laptop that is provided for the tutoring program is set-up for program use only. While our program is online and your child will access the Internet to use our program, the laptop has the highest level of built in safety and security measures for children. Your child can only access our program from the laptop.

8. How does my child access your tutoring program?

Our program can be accessed from any Internet-enabled computer. A laptop is provided for program use at home. If you have wireless Internet capabilities at home, the laptop will come with a wireless card built in at no cost to you. If you do not have Internet access, you will need a home phone line for accessing dial-up Internet. We provide a built in dialer at no cost to you.

9. How do I know if my child is performing the work? How will I track my child’s progress?

At anytime, you will be able to access live progress reports for your child. You can use your child’s laptop for this purpose. We will provide you with login access and you can see everything your child has accomplished. We will also keep you up to date and notify you if your child progress and we will inform you if your child is missing tutoring sessions. You can email or call us at anytime with questions. In addition, each parent/student will be assigned a Parent/Student Counselor. The counselor will help the parent/guardian stay engaged in the students work and let the parent/guardian know if the student is keeping on track with the program. The successful students in our program are fully engaged and the parents/guardians are as well. Together we will work toward the goal of helping your child succeed in mathematics.
